Casinos Located Off the Las Vegas Strip
There are 29 casinos located "Off the Strip" (not directly on Las Vegas Boulevard). These are the gambling places that the locals play because the payout odds are usually better than on the Strip. Some of the Off-Strip casinos like the Las Vegas Rio, the Palms Hotel or the Las Vegas Hardrock are only are only one block from the Strip while others are across town. That is why the locals rarely gamble on Las Vegas Boulevard.
