About Cruise Ship ownership, management and casinos
An extremely popular way to vacation is to take an ocean cruise and owning a cruise line is a very profitable business. Cruises are typically a "one price pays all" transaction which includes food, on board recreation and room. The profit is made from items that must be purchased separately like liquor, gifts and the casino. All Cruise Ships have on board casinos that open when the ship enters international waters.Vacation cruises are a multi billion dollar business and the two largest companies are Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Some of the smaller companies focus on a selected geographic area, but the larger companies move their ships according to the winter and summer seasons. For example, many ships tour the Caribbean during the popular winter season and then move to cruise Europe, Alaska or the Mediterranean during the summer.
There is also a web page that shows the owners of all land based casinos, worldwide.
