Our Review
On August 8, 2009 we visited the new FireKeepers Casino in Battle Creek Michigan, just two days after it opened. Later in the day we heard the casino was at full capacity with a three hour wait, so I am glad we got there early. FireKeepers is located at Exit 104 on I-94 which is half way between Chicago and Detroit.  

The casino floor is semi-circular so you can easily walk around the outside diameter to find a restaurant, nightclub, restroom, or free beverage station. Make sure you memorize a few landmarks because it is easy to get lost.

All the slot machines are new and many were games we have not played before.  There is space around all the table games, so even when the casino is crowded you have plenty of elbow room. Most of the video poker machines are located adjacent to the large poker room, so the poker players have a place to practice until their name is called.

The only restaurant without a long line was the 24/7 Café which didn’t sound exciting but we were pleasantly surprised. The Café offers breakfast, sandwiches and full meals. I ordered the Rubin and my wife ordered a burger, both were excellent. This makes me wonder how great the food was at the other restaurants with long lines. I am looking forward to a return visit.

I must complement all the staff, including dealers, servers, security, tech support, etc. Everyone we met was well trained, fast and most of all super friendly. It looks like FireKeepers hired the best of the best.

Restaurants
There are five nice restaurants to choose from: Nibe - a contemporary steakhouse; Mijem Buffet - which offers Italian, Asian and American cuisine; Amazen Blazen - for light snacks; Chi Mon-ee's Food Court - for a great deli sandwich, pizza or rotisserie chicken; and the Cafe 24/7 offering breakfast, sandwiches and dinner.

Hotel
No hotel at this time, but they are working on stay and play programs with some of the local hotels.

RV Parking
Free overnight RV parking, but no dump or hookups.
